Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck!

I prefer to think of depends who is asking. (usually people want the answer they are looking for)

Sounds to me you prefer if the answer was that duck was white meat so you can eat it along with the other poultry like turkey and chicken. So yeah lah is white meat lah! Scientific! :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
Yes, I prefer scientific! :biggrin: But like I mentioned earlier, I don't really like duck, too gamey. Mutton and lamb, even though they are gamey too, I don't have a problem with those. Chicken and turkey, I can eat all day long.

Have you had moose?

@eatshitndie have you had Bison?

I have had bison. Beef is nice frankly. I think partly because beef they have grown such that there are different grades. Whereas with bison.......tastes like cheap beef to me. And usually is bison burger (and you know burgers lah pretty much all the same).

It's more gamey than duck and very popular in HK and tiongland.

You just reminded me of the nightmare I went thru on a trip to HK. I don't understand the big deal with goose. Gamey like heck. But the wife ordered five to six of them (if I recall correctly), to be hand carried back to sg. Guess the poor SOB who had to lug them all the way home. KNN. And I don't even eat goose!

Yeah, Bison = Buffalo =beef. OK, so it's a less preferred beef. What about moose?

I enjoyed it thoroughly. Had goose drumstick rice and costs me SGD10 back in the mid 2000s....

I had Moose before. Given to us by a friend who went hunting.

Moose very tough. Not tender. But then again the moose was hunted. Not reared.

Is that what you mean by "gamey"? Tough meat?

Best description is like mutton smell, aka 骚味.

Wah, so fortunate to get free free-range organic meat. Gamey refers to the smell of the meat. Moose is classified as venison, right? Can't be beef.

i had lots of venison and a steak of bison in the past. i even tried ostrich meat. but no more. i repented and swore never to eat meat from these wonderful creatures anymore. everytime i hike in rural farmlands, near ranches, and in the wilderness i remember them.

yeah I guess that's one way of looking at it, an enlightened way I would say. After all, they're not poultry per se. I've had venison and ostrich. Just for the experience.
