SINGAPORE — A 78-year-old man was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital on Wednesday (June 9) after he fell from the sixth floor of a public housing block in Geylang Bahru.

In response to TODAY’s queries on Friday, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that it had received a call for assistance at Block 61 Geylang Bahru at about 4.25pm on June 9.

Upon arrival at the scene, SCDF found a man sitting on a window ledge of a sixth floor flat.

“After SCDF deployed a safety life air pack, the person fell on it,” SCDF said.

The police said that the man was conscious when he was taken to the hospital.

“He was subsequently apprehended under Section 7 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act,” they said.

In a video posted on the “50 Shades of Singapore” Facebook group, a shirtless man is seen sitting on a window ledge on the sixth floor of the housing block.

SCDF officers can be seen at the void deck with an inflated safety life air pack, while two SCDF officers are on the upper floors, preparing to bring the man to safety.

This is heartbreaking. 78 yrs old and wanting end his life when he is supposed to be enjoying his twilight years. He must be so disillusioned with the pap.

He should have taken down lanjiao loong if he intent to go, find him and fuck him with a knife laced with poison.
