PM Lee meets George Bush




PRIME Minister Lee Hsien Loong met former US President George W Bush at the Istana on Monday.

President Bush, who is visiting Singapore from Sunday to Tuesday, had a wide-ranging discussion with PM Lee, said a statement from the Prime Minister's Office.

Both also discussed developments in the region and the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Leaders Meeting in Singapore.

Hu to visit Malaysia, Singapore, attend APEC summit: FM

BEIJING: Chinese President Hu Jintao will pay state visits to Malaysia and Singapore from November 10 to 13 and attend an Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit set for November 14 and 15 in Singapore, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Monday.

Hu would visit at the invitations of Malaysian Supreme Head of State Mizan Zainal Abidin and Singaporean President S. R. Nathan, ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said in a statement.

At the invitation of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Hu would attend the 17th APEC economic leaders meeting, Ma said.
