In any case, eating beef in moderation is fine. in gluttony it's not. also, ethical butchering is different from harassing the animal like a troop of monkeys.

Also, gluttony and inhumane butchering must be avoided and rejected. The problem is, how are we to know the method the cow/bull was dispatched? I love meat but I could never kill an animal. And as I get older, I even have problems killing fishes.....I guess one becomes more compassionate when one gets nearer to the grave. Or in our case, to Mandai.

well we have to trust the system. unfortunately, no one is bothering with ethical meat on a good scale. I mean in countries which grow the stuff, you can actually go and watch the slaughter yourself to be 100% certain. But it's too hard and often more expensive. Cheap meat tends to be made with cheap practices.

Oh... beware meat coming anywhere from near South-Central Asia. The Pakistani Muslims have a habit of rounding up cows that the Indians won't touch, because y'know. These unscrupulous bastards then proceed to drive these free cattle without food or water across long distances to get to Pakistani ports. These starved, dehydrated, exhausted and harassed cattle are then put to death with "humane Islamic" practices which are nothing of the sort.

there's actually evidence to show that people in these jobs actually lose their sanity after a while. What happens is that they slowly become more desensitized and cruel and in fact start to routinely torture the animals. Something about continual exposure... I didn't really pay too much attention to the fine print...

a lot of these traditions made sense.... Back in the 1600s and when we lived in villages and no doctor, no lawyer, no police, no grave digger even. Uncle is right that in a modern day city, these traditions are just hollow shells and not really relevant.
