SINGAPORE — There were 25 new imported cases of Covid-19 reported here on Monday (April 12) and no cases in the wider community.

In its update on the coronavirus situation here, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that all 25 people had been placed on stay-home notices or isolated upon their arrival here and were tested while serving quarantine.

They were:

Five Singaporeans and two permanent residents who returned from Canada, India, Indonesia and the United Kingdom

Four work pass holders who arrived from Bangladesh, India and Nepal

Eleven work permit holders who came from Bangladesh, India and the Philippines

Three short-term visit pass holders. Two of them had arrived from India to visit their family members here while the third had arrived from the United States for a work project

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained stable at two a week in the past two weeks, MOH said.

The number of cases in the community that have no known links to confirmed cases has also remained stable at two a week in the past two weeks.

The total number of infections in Singapore is now 60,678.

Of these, 60,357 people have fully recovered and been discharged, including 22 on Monday.

There are still 56 patients in hospitals. Of these, most are stable or improving, and one is in critical condition in the intensive care unit, MOH said.

Another 235 patients are isolated at community facilities. They have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still tested positive for Covid-19.
