Everything Chinese people do surrounds around money. Look at the red and ugly 对联 mainly emphasize on material possessions. So mercenary and disgusting.

Christmas Eve so much better. More cultured and upper class. It preaches love and charity. It does not emphasize on material possessions unlike low SES Chinese culture.
