After 15 years, Iraq is still in ruins. The intention of the US was not about oil, but to teach arabs, all arabs, a lesson they will never forget.
When Iraq invaded Kuwait, it was after US gave them the green light. Iraq was financially bankrupt after fighting iran in the 8 years war. And Kuwait was stealing its oil by horizontal drilling and selling above its opec quota depressing prices. Thats why saddam burned the oil fields when retreating.

The defence industry do not like presidents who avoid war. Too bad. Trump has not lost yet so we will see the outcome.
