I use silicon straps, I have a tendency to refer to them as rubber.i prefer silicon to rubber. I feel that rubber is not that comfortable or maybe i didn't get the expensive ones.

Not too sure about their value. I believe good value TAGs are the automatic chronos like the Autavia and even the Monaco. Not familiar with Swatch but I know some of those are highly sought after.
Prices of Swiss watches increase 10% annually automatically. That is the norm according to a watch seller I used to patronized regularly.Yo,
When I bgt in 1999, was $200+.
Then my colleague saw.
Few months later, he buy.
Already $400+•
Not Joking hor.
just like your car is a simple Toyota... not...I’m old school, simple Seikos work for me
thick and heavy watches suck... overcompensating I think. OTOH too thin looks bapuk.Only buy a Springdrive if you like thick and heavy watches.
why so popular ah? I saw quick a few people having that. The ah pek watch that was very popular in the 60s and 70s. My father still has a gold one in his drawer.

Casio released a series of rebooted GMWB5000s with enhanced features like smart notifications and tough solar. Some are even in titanium .. really a classic reboot!

Best compromise is a Seiko Springdrive. Automatic watch that uses spring energy to generate electrical energy for quartz crystal regulation. Quartz accuracy, never need to change battery. You would rather the watch has disposable batt? I only wear auto watches. Need to move around to wind the watch, so I can't be lazy.
I actually don't like giving prestige to continentals. A lot of it is show. Sometimes complication for complication's sake.I love things simple in design and form and most of all reliable. The trade off is prestige continentals are always more prestigious in eyes of Asians.
Yeah, this new tech is quite awesome. Like Citizen Eco drive, but it uses light instead of motion.Best compromise is a Seiko Springdrive. Automatic watch that uses spring energy to generate electrical energy for quartz crystal regulation. Quartz accuracy, never need to change battery.
Get a toyota land cruiser...Yeah, this new tech is quite awesome. Like Citizen Eco drive, but it uses light instead of motion.
For me, being an old romantic and a stubborn old fart, I still prefer old fashion auto mechanical watches. If I had a choice, I'd still be driving my carburettor car without electric windows and all that complicated electronics.![]()
Great technology but still way too expensive. The next best thing is their Kinetic watches which I own a few. They can be charged with an induction charger like the one use to charge Braun electric toothbrush.Best compromise is a Seiko Springdrive. What makes the Springdrive better is that the spring is the battery, so less likely to wear out etc. Eco drive (I have one) uses a rechargeable lithium cell to store power. Thought they used a super capacitor, but apparently not.Yeah, this new tech is quite awesome. Like Citizen Eco drive, but it uses light instead of motion.
