Is it true that as one ages, the desire to buy branded goods decreases?

Whereas as we grow older, we prioritize functionality over branded things. That's what I observe in respect to my senior friends and colleagues.

One of them even remarked "Buy branded stuff to show off to who?". I told her it's the "feel good" feeling that one is paying for and sort of "lifestyle" thingie.

Maybe I am still too young to appreciate what they have gone through in life.

Any thoughts on this?

I have never been keen on branded goods.

Waste of money. Unless it is for practical reasons.

Eg Toyota as brand represent reliability good product value for money.

Do you really consider Toyota as branded? I mean if a guy drives a Toyota, I always thought that he is a practical and functional chap.

What are the factors that cause you to change your outlook? Is it purely due to aging? Or are there any factors like worry about retirement finances or simply, I don't need consensus from others and I be who I want to be.

Do u think Rolex,Patek phillipe and all those luxury shops in MBS are targeted more towards the older crowds or the younger folks?

Those men that wear those expensive thousand dollar suits and leather shoes are more likely to be in their 30s,40s,50s,60s executives and CEOs or younger folks?

U have ur answer......

I consider Toyota the type of brand I will go for. And you are quite correct what the brand stands for.

When you buy other brands what do they tell you?

BMW to me is a brand for assholes.
Ok. I respect your view. I guess everyone values different brands differently.

Younger folks desire for them more than older people but they may not be able to afford. It's like a dream watch sort of thingie.

Is a gradual decreasing kind of urge as he is aging KNN not so much on the finances but whatever he wears now also rook ugly so no point trying to rook good anymore KNN

I am ashamed to say I am very brand conscious. I was brought up that way and have not been able to shake it off. Three Rifles, Crocodile, and the luxury brand Giordano. As for transport, I only go for the best brand, which is Flying Pigeon.

These brands are considered "branded"? OK, never mind. To each his own.
