Remembering Ve-Tsin

I used to grow up seeing this in the kitchen 4-5 decades ago. This week went to Yaowarat (Bangkok's Chinatown) saw this in the market, brought back many sweet memories. Bought one for nostalgic sake.

Does anyone of you still use this in your kitchen?

also used to see that in the old kitchen. it’s full of msg. no wonder the food then tasted good every time we added this powder. no longer in use as we grew older and started to avoid msg. the empty tins can be used to store salt and baking soda.

Atas people use Aji-no-moto.

I like the vintage tin case. It's only used by certain teas and these:

Boat brand or orange brand.

It says "Vegetarian Friendly" so should be ok right, unlike Ajinomoto I heard in Thailand and Indonesia and perhaps other countries too MSG is made from animal bones and organs etc.

hk version claims it’s made from “cereal”, thus the msg should be plant based. msg can be made chemically without plants nor animals. i don’t trust hongkies. after having too much ve-tsin, one becums tze-tsin.
