So sad, the JB Causeway area has totally changed. Lot of high-rise property development (speculation) due to the China money brought in by Najib.

Back in the day you could see giant cigarette ad billboards e.g. Mild Seven, and they greeted you as you crossed the border, now they're no more.

Don't forget the MRT stations on the new lines. Many were built (and are being built) by Tiong construction companies.

I thought it was badawi that brought boom to jb.he abolished visa for visitors from china and india and malaysia became the most vsiited county on the planet. It was on cnn.what they failed to say was, most were day trippers from sinkie.
Badawi even went as far as proposing that border post bewteen sinkie and jiu hu be abolish.that got dr mad really mad.
All that of course came to a abrupt end when najib came in and started imposing conditions on foreign housing purchases, hefty tolls at border, visas for china and india visitors......
Those china developers came in during badawi's time. Including forest city.
