It is important to concentrate on metrics that actually matter and not allow ourselves to be sidetracked by irrelevant side shows.
What is the point of this daily case count? All it does is reflect the amount of testing done. It does not show anything more.
We don't go about testing people daily for the Epstein Barr virus and reporting the numbers despite the fact that it causes more than 150,000 deaths every single year with no vaccine or treatment available.
By all means report the Covid-19 cases that are serious enough to end up in hospital but to just report case counts daily is a waste of resources, time and effort BECAUSE HARDLY ANY OF THEM ARE ACTUALLY SICK.
