Using a car to deliver I think cannot earn a decent living from this.but lucky it's just temporary.
I was told on a good week from morning till night on a normal non covid day, deliveries can earn $1k per week. Not bad. Plus flexi time.

Grabfood is subsiding the deliveries that is why these delivery guys still can make money. You order food only pay $3 delivery many times it’s free delivery but these riders they get incentives and bonus that add up to more than the $3 you paid per delivery. How the company make $?
Similar to Uber then they will giving out free rides to passengers and incentives to drivers that totaled more than their 20% cut of the fare. That is why Uber is bleeding money. These gig economy cannot sustain the salaries for long. This covid is just a freak boost to sales

Not sure if the store was too busy to temporarily close the status of the store delivery when there was already so much. I remembered last time at my work, unlike FoodPanda and Deliveroo the Grabfood app doesn't allow the store to reject orders unless you close the menu or store hours. Also, glitch sometimes happen. We have closed the FoodPanda delivery status before and even shutdown the phone, to our surprise a deliveryrider appeared and on his phone, it showed that the order was accepted. Switch on the phone to confirm and it did appear. Though it was not our fault, felt really bad when we had to tell him about the glitch and that the food item was also sold out already. The order was also quite a sum from what I remember. It was sad to see the disappointed smile the deliveryman gave after hearing us (as he wasted his time coming over and lost his income). I hope that things will get better for both sides, the staff who have to monitor the delivery and the deliveryman who are collecting the orders.

Din Tai Fung (Nex) accept hundreds of delivery orders through GrabFood, until dozens of GrabFood delivery men arrive, wait for hours, then hours later Din Tai Fung say "sorry our staff only half strength, can't cope" so cancel hundreds of GrabFood orders, so all the GrabFood delivery men not only wasted their working time earning nothing, but the GrabFood delivery men also kena fucked & complained by hundreds of furious customers who wait for hours for their Din Tai Fung orders to be cancelled on them.
