Covid-19 : Can Singapore's coronavirus success last?

The PAP is full of very intelligent people. They know what they are doing.

Singapore needs to be lead by street-smarts, those who are ahead of the curve. The intelligent scholars are just good administrators. They should do what they do best.

Dealing with Covid-19 has nothing to do with being street smart because those who have done battle on the streets have zero experience when it comes to dealing with this infection.

Infection spread is all about Mathematics and we have a PM who is one of the best in the world when it comes to the subject.

Covid-19 is way less lethal than reported because the number of cases are being under reported to by a huge factor. My estimate is 10x.

Responses in most countries have been formulated based on political pressure.

The PAP, on the other hand, is under zero pressure politically. That is why they have responded rationally instead of implementing a gross overkill.

Then shouldn't doctors be leading the battle?

GPs don't have the knowledge, the data or the tools to come up with any meaningul advice regarding pandemics. What is required is accurate mathematical modeling.

The problem that every country is facing now is that there is insufficient data for an accurate model of how many deaths there will be. The majority of countries have therefore adopted the very worst case scenario simply because the government advisors don't want to risk underestimating. It will cost them their reputation and their jobs.

Singapore is well known for it's Kiasi, Kiasu traits but this is one time where the government has been very rational and focused. That is why I always contend that the PAP is the best!
