Just calling a spade a spade although the thread starter has filed a complaint against me. It's OK, I am sure smokers hate to be reminded of their addiction. I will keep off the foul language but the message is the same.

Instead of bitching about price increases etc, use this as extra motivatin to stop smoking. And of course never buy contraband.

No offence, but I feel that such a choice is illusory when one is addicted. Nobody choose to be addicted and once addicted, the choice to quit is very limited and constrained. That's Addiction 101.

lol... fucking moronic garhmen trying to stop contraband ciggs...... how many can you catch? You catch 1, there are thousands more smoking contraband ciggs if not vape. The more prices increased, the more contraband and especially vapes will flood the local market indirectly enriching the smugglers. Singapore is surrounded by Malaysia, Indonesia, etc... with much cheaper ciggs and vapes. How many containers or vehicles can you check at the customs everyday? How much manpower do you have and is required? The number of seizures at the customs is just a microscopic tip of the iceberg. I estimate out of 100%, the seizure rate is probably much lesser than 0.1% which the smugglers have already taken those seizures as part of the cost of doing business. Still very profitable even after factoring the seizure rates.

If the garhmen is so competent at doing their jobs, will there be a need to send out threatening messages like these in the hope to petrify the public into submission? Go increase prices some more lah kum lan kia....
