TOKYO: Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea will remain closed through early April over fears of the coronavirus outbreak, the resort operators said Wednesday (Mar 11).
Oriental Land also said the opening of new zones and attractions scheduled for Apr 15 will be pushed back to mid-May, as the government calls on the public to avoid unnecessary outings and crowded places.

The announcement came a day after Prime Minister Shinzo Abe called for a 10-day extension of measures intended to halt the spread of the new coronavirus, including cancelling, delaying or scaling back major events.
The virus has so far infected 568 people in Japan and been linked with 12 deaths.

Oriental Land originally closed the parks from Feb 29 with a plan to reopen from Mar 16.

"We are planning our resumption time for early April, but we will make an announcement at a later time," the company said in a statement.

year, including children during the spring school break, and they are among the most popular destinations for tourists coming to Tokyo.

Universal Studios Japan, which had originally planned to remain closed for a fortnight until Mar 15, also said Wednesday it would remain shut for at least another week.

"We will announce when to reopen, carefully considering situations, including future announcements to be made by the government," the Osaka-based theme park said.

I can understand if our cases are dwindling in numbers. Unfortunately, its now rising rapidly with more and more new cases daily, and yet we are keeping these parks open and risking the lives of individuals, especi children.

Other countries really want to contain and prevent infection. They fuck care about visitors, money, economy. Their citizens' safety and well being are top priority.

Which is why I can only say, FUCK The PAP.

Something is very wrong with Singapore's approach. Money seems to be more important than keeping it's people safe.

And they are running promotions to make it crowded to earn more money. It's ridiculous.

and Sinkies will be rushing to cash in on the deal! Altogether now!!! HUAT AH!!!

sg is a visitor/tourist hub, retail and shopping haven, hotel and makan paradise and playground. priority is to keep the cuntry buzzing while covid can take a back seat. life must go on, sinkies must makan, visitors must cum, and banglas must clean up. if every place is closed and sinkies get cocooned in hdb flats sure bosong and riot after 69 days when they can’t jalan jalan and get their makan. better for sinkies to get wuhaned than cause unrest.

sinkies must jalan jalan
die die must also makan
other than getting wuhan
karchng ho pappies tio kan

If you accept that sinkieland is a company, then it all starts to make sense. It is a money making venture for the pap and their carefully curated cronies.

cloudy forgot Sinkiestan is Sinkapoor Inc?

We must deepen the social distancing measures by shutting down all recreational facilities that has the potential to draw a crowd, such as movie theaters, the zoo, botanical gardens, Haw Par Villa. Singaporeans should stay at home as much as possible.

Keeping these facilities open is a black mark on our political leadership, which is pussyfooting. And if they are still concerned about the tourist dollar, they can bloody go screw themselves. Putting locals at risk just to keep the numbers flowing in? There'll be blood on that kind of money. These people are royal idiots.

What about the cashflow? SMEs can suck thumbs and fold when their business is down 50-80%

Those bird park, Gardens by the Nahbay, zoo, movie operators can go suck their thumbs. Those are not SMEs.

Look at this:

Japan is doing the right thing.
