http://www.tremeritus.net/2019/12/2...s-while-ministers-live-in-their-ivory-towers/
- Earlier at about 2am, I saw a Grabfood rider sitting at the carpark waiting for a job. In a first-world country with million-dollar ministers, here is a Singaporean waiting for a job at 2am. If he does not get a call, he will go home empty-handed.
- We also have elderly Singaporeans collecting cardboards to sell. After working the whole night, a cardboard collector can earn as little as $3.10.
- MOE now says that they will review the withholding of certificates for students whose fees are not paid.
- MSF now says it will review assistance for single-mother after report surfaced of attempted suicide for CPF monies.
(Would these reviews have come about if activists, alternative media and opposition politicians had not highlighted these issues? And these are the people that our ministers are trying to silence with legal suits and POFMA).
- Yesterday there was a report of an N-Level student who did very well against all odds. She grappled with her parents’ divorce, her mother’s health problems, financial hardship and her own emotional problems, all the way from primary 2 or 3 onwards. This young lady made it, but how many more could have fallen out due to insufficient support from our system. The very system that grants $200 over million of taxpayers’ money on grants and scholarship for foreign students.
There are many more issues facing Singaporeans, the issue of millions of foreigners coming in to Singapore to take away jobs from Singaporeans, why our first-world education system is not good enough to land us jobs that are going to foreigners, healthcare costs, and many more problems.
