mmm....most interesting things there are natural sights. check out their miles of coastline where you got the whole flipping beach to yourself. but that requires quite a bit of a drive and maybe a wetsuit because the water is always cold. And not a joke, watch out for sharks. The odds are low, but there are known to be shark attacks. A few a year sometimes. If you're submerged and diving, you're less likely to get eaten. But surf and splash around and blood or pee in the water is asking for trouble.I have never been to Australia before. Thinking of starting with Perth.
Anything interesting in Perth?
Not really..depends on what you like...its still a mining town to date hence the perception..Cairns and Darwin probably feel more like Australia as there's lots of natural spaces to explore...perth is the most boring place in oz...

You are from Darwin and yet you say that Perth is the most boring place in Oz?
This is a local knowledge...Rottnest Island
perth is the most boring place in oz...
Perth the city and it's suburbs is quite boring compared to Melbourne. Perth as in the landing point for the rest of WA is not too bad. I actually like WA's topography and nature more than just about any other states in Oz with the possible exception of Tasmania. Not really..depends on what you like...its still a mining town to date hence the perception..Cairns and Darwin probably feel more like Australia as there's lots of natural spaces to explore...

Bro, this is a lot of information. Thank you so much!mmm....most interesting things there are natural sights. check out their miles of coastline where you got the whole flipping beach to yourself. but that requires quite a bit of a drive and maybe a wetsuit because the water is always cold. A lot of tourists visit Fremantle (free-o) and love it, in fact everyone I know loves it, but I hate tourist traps. Sitting by the Swan river is nice and a day spent walking around and having a picnic in King's Park is great. One of my favourite things to do there is just have a picnic, lie down and look at the endless sky between the trees and fall asleep. For other things, not so good. Forget shopping except for Oz-specific curiosities. Perth is not a happening city like Tokyo or Osaka. It's got that laidback, sleepy Aussie vibe, partly because it's low density. restaurants are interesting especially the seafood ones because Oz seafood is pretty good raw materials. only cooking standard not so hot or interesting technique.
Also don't go during the height of summer. 40 degrees. Best time to go is a month or two before like late-oct, nov. otherwise it can get rainy and grey during the cooler months.
so literally, go for fresh air and sunshine and fresh food. oh, and don't bother with the beef. the lamb is always better. and I almost forgot. if you go during the right time, Oz stone fruits are the best in the world. eat there and you'll never eat it in sinkieland again. Some people go for Aussie wine. yucks! Aussie beer is much better than the wine.
Perth is actually a good place to start.
Cairns is too far - at the other end of Australia. I hate long flights. Not really..depends on what you like...its still a mining town to date hence the perception..Cairns and Darwin probably feel more like Australia as there's lots of natural spaces to explore...
