A woman and a girl were taken to hospital after their e-scooter collided with a taxi in Yishun on Saturday morning (July 13).

Stomper Kohji received photos of the incident from a friend and shared them with Stomp.

One of the photos shows a woman, who has her head bandaged, as a uniformed personnel attends to her.

In another photo Kohji shared, an e-scooter can be seen on the ground, next to the hood of a yellow taxi.

Kohji told Stomp: "Based on my understanding, the e-scooter was already crossing halfway and saw no cars but the taxi turned in without looking and crashed into them."

Responding to Stomp queries, the police said:

"On July 13 at 9.57am, the police were alerted to an accident involving a taxi and an e-scooter along Yishun Avenue 4.

"The e-scooter rider, a 36-year-old woman, and the pillion, a 7-year-old girl, were conscious when conveyed to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and KK Women's and Children's Hospital respectively.

"Police investigations are ongoing."

I pity the taxi driver. Got into trouble bcos of these clowns
The usual lah...If you are driving, you turned your head and look, no one crossing, you turned. Out of the blue, these speeding PMD appeared before you and gave you a shock. You jammed brake, unfortunately too late. Seen enough of these accidents. You can't blame the driver for not keeping proper lookout when these speeding PMDs will appear out of nowhere.

She could be a single mother, there's a proliferation of single mothers in their 20s and 30s.

I do see your point that she may be acting out of necessity but I know of many single moms who either walk or take public transport. Why risk her own life and her son's life? Even if she is very alert, an impatient or dreaming taxi driver can kill them both.

For heavens sake. The boy is on a e-scooter. In the old days, we used to cycle on the roads.
