I’m intrigued and actually quite surprised on 1 of FCBC’s senior pastors claiming the high moral ground (LINK) when it is apparent there is none to begin with, on your continuous trust in political power and endorsement of an autocratic leader who has repeatedly refused to come clean with citizens on various affairs of the State and have instead, caused many to suffer from persecution on unsolicited support such as yours. Some of the pap’s political foes have even been arbitrarily detained and abused.
It is quite regretful that you have chosen to utilise your position as a religious leader to not only attempt to influence a secular society as a whole towards hatred and intolerance but to also “demonise” parents who were merely being there for their child. I am pretty sure as a parent yourself, you should be cognisant of how a parent’s love for their children does not change, especially based on sexual orientation. Unless of course, you’re one of those fundamentalist Middle Eastern parent who has to stone based on Palaeolithic religious laws.
Interestingly enough, you had quoted “how does something immoral, when done privately, becomes moral when it is done collectively?” Who and what defines morality in an age devoid of prophets, with the canons of scripture sealed? Those who do so are merely acting out of a desire to subjugate and lord rather than inspire and comprehend!
Your follow up quote is even more oxymoronic than the initial one which is, “does legality establish morality?” My question will be, does a secret committee convened on the sly to override public knowledge of a deceased elderly’s desire to demolish his house after his demise makes it any more moral when it destroys family ties in the process. What adds injury to insult is the fact your friend can employ a supermajority in the legislature to bring any inquiries of impropriety to a halt and declare himself “absolved” of all serious accusations. How does your continuous unsighted support of such a dubious character fit in the moral assertions of the bible? You would also like to know that “Corruption” is legalised in many countries and I am sure you will have no difficulties agreeing with myself that it does not make it, “moral”!
Your organisation of the “jubilee day of prayer” is in addition, vanity, as the highlight of the event and “Guest of Honour” is not G-d Almighty who should have taken centre stage but really an atheist who does not believe in the existence of G-d. Does not the bible say “the fool says in his heart, there is no G-d.” Yet, the attendees proceeded to rise to their feet and recite a benediction on an uncircumcised in flesh and heart non-believer which is an abomination according to Torah Laws!
As a Jew from a congregation in Dallas who delights in mercy more than judgement and adhering to the spirit of the law rather than the letter, I choose to follow the moral ethics as emphasised time and again, by the men and women of G-d. After all the message genuinely is “be thou holy as I the L-rd your G-d, am holy”. Being holy means fighting injustices as keepers of the Torah!
I suggest you might want to take bible lessons from Central Synagogue New York or Rabbi David Wolpe to discover afresh, the true meaning of “kavod habriot” and “human dignity”. Wishing you much success in your journey towards becoming a better religious leader!
Yours faithfully,
Daniel De Costa

Abrahamic religions and homos have always been 不共戴天,势不两立. Nothing new under the sun.
Occasionally you'll find some curious cases of compromise, for example, this homo-friendly church off Margaret Drive. It has a rainbow banner which is hard to miss.

The khongs are simply defending their rice bowls. I am sure they do not lead an ascetic life. And so money cannot be ruled out as a motivator for their actions. Say what the flock wants to hear, collect more tithes.
Unless I'm wrong and they do indeed lead an ascetic life.

hanor, trying to be holier than thou and casting stones at others, while having a glass house - pathetic swine! The khongs are simply defending their rice bowls. Actually they are not. They are trapping LGBTQI+ folks to go to their church to try to change them. You just need to go to their site to look and listen more closely. Shouldn't be fooled.Abrahamic religions and homos have always been 不共戴天,势不两立. Nothing new under the sun.

Not really, a lot of Christians really believe that sodomites are going straight to hell and their lifestyle is degenerate. Just because they're all smiles and polite in everyday life doesn't mean this belief is going to change.
Because Lee Hsien Yang is the spawn of the almighty LKY, these Christians get upset when the degenerate lifestyle encroaches, even tangentially, into politics. If Lee Hsien Yang were some random low SES chump, Nina Khong wouldn't have cared.
