【13:35】據附近肉檔負責人何先生表示，事發前他聽見附近佳寶超級市場有人爭執，約十分鐘後他見到一名軍裝警員，按槍追捕一名持刀男子，該名男子然後衝入佳寶超市內，約10餘秒後現場傳出槍聲。何續指，持刀男經常在附近排檔流連，疑染有不良嗜好，亦曾涉及偷竊案。
【13:10】現場消息指，一名男子今午到上址一間店舖，期間懷疑盜竊，店舖負責人見狀制止，賊人其後逃去，未幾有人持刀返回現場，向店舖負責人狂斬。警方西九衝鋒隊接報到場，有警員開槍制服疑犯，疑犯及店舖負責人受傷送院。
