During my NS days when training in 2 or 3 men lose on foot at night. The village dog packs will come after us.

My trick was to pickup blank rounds which we threw away all over the training areas, and shoot them without blank attachment. Open fire only when they are near enough. Very effective. Won't die but will pee all over and flee, and you won't see the pack for the rest of the night.

Each village can get 2 to 3 packs, a few rounds and you will be mongrel-free for whole night. But don't get caught or you sure go DB.
