the best creation of the collective imagination, and yet it is the universal solvent that dilutes everything along the way... :D

Time is a psychological construct, and a very creative one at that.

The concept of time is meaningful only if you attach a meaning to life. :)

and perhaps that's why we need to treasure every moment in our lives, for they are never meant to last forever :D

I'm afraid I would have to disagree. Perhaps I'm a cynic whereas you are not. :(
Life doesn't have any meaning anyway and doesn't need to have. We just live through it, there's no need to treasure it or anything within.

ahaha... we can always agree to disagree, for it is just about the different sides of the same coin and you've just said it neatly: we just live thru' it :)

only that i prefer to see the lighter side of it :D

Time is an illusive concept. Everything we experience is imprinted in our consciousness.

Time flies like an arrow, but fruit flies like a banana.

Rhythm and Love rule the world as Paul Tortelier once said. It is true that there is no meaning in life. We are but machinery of the great construct. But if you listen to the rhythms that are being played, you can affect those rhythms and feed on them. You can even bend time so to speak by affecting permutations that would never occur without volition, which unfortunately cannot extend the machinery of the self but perhaps help one maximize the shelf life as specified according to the consstruct. Until an effective way of reconciling the 2nd law of entropy, extending time of the self is impossible. The means maybe to deny and suck the life out of other machinery.

An extension of the concept of time is the concept of perpetuity.
Why do people always assume that something (or someone) will continue in perpetuity and are shocked when it doesn't?

which makes me wonder, where we have not fully understood the concept of time, whereof the understanding of perpetuity comes from? :D:D:D

Aha! But it is both that we have not fully understood.
Perpetuity is merely never ending time. :D

Sorry, time does end as time is measure by something physical. This universe has an expiry date. Not sure if another one will occur after this one expires. Even with parallel universes, it is still the same.

Never study or understand physics. When in doubt refer to 2nd Law of Thermodynamics.
