The Malays did not have any of the whities' bullshit "Page Act" (US), "Foreign Miners Tax" (US), "Chinese Exclusion Act" (US), "An Act to Make Provisions for Certain Immigrants" (Australia), "Immigration Restriction Act" (Australia), etc including policies designed to keep Chinese like my grandparents out.
Not sure what keeps these ingrates going. It's either ignorance, poor knowledge of history or the loss of traditional Chinese morals and values where the young are taught values like selflessness, humility and the need to be grateful to those (like the Malays) who have helped them.

That is not a good comparison. Malays were not colonial masters and more like native Americans who suffered far worse fate under American exceptionalism when they were marched off their lands or boxed into reserves like wildlife. Malays had it good under the Brits and continue to enjoy privileged status post independence due of a brief association with the Malayan Federation.
