SINGAPORE — Eligible Singaporeans will each receive up to S$300 as a one-off SG Bonus by December, as promised in this year’s Budget.
A total of 2.8 million Singaporeans aged 21 and above will receive letters from Oct 2 onwards about their SG Bonus, the amount of which will vary depending on their Assessable Income for last year, the Ministry of Finance said in a news release on Friday (Sept 28).
The SG Bonus was announced during Budget 2018, as a way for the Government to share the fruits of the country’s development with Singaporeans, the ministry said.
To view their SG Bonus benefit, Singaporeans may use their SingPass to log in to the SG Bonus website www.singaporebudget.gov.sg/sgbonus from Oct 2. SMS notifications will also be sent to those who have registered their mobile number with SingPass.
Singaporeans will automatically receive their SG Bonus if they had signed up for any other government payout scheme — like Growth Dividends or GST Voucher — in the past. Those who have not signed up will have until March 3, 2019 to do so online.
Citizens who register their NRIC with PayNow before Nov 7 can receive their SG Bonus via the payment app earlier, by Nov 30. Those who choose not to register with PayNow can receive their SG Bonus directly into their bank accounts or by cheque, and will receive the bonus only in December, the ministry said.
Those who want to donate their SG Bonus may do so via the SG Bonus website or the SG Cares mobile application.
