Income gap widens in Singapore because we bring in new immigrants causing stagnant wages.

  • Mid-career PMETs faced with competition with S-Pass and EP holders, many ended up driving Grab and Uber. Even Filipinos are working in HR dept of stat boards and agencies.

  • Since the last elections, we have once again increased intake for new-citizens. Enbloc fever in anticipation of population growth throwing $2-4million to over 10000-20000 seniors while our young face escalating home prices.

Many local-borns will be like this soon:

 
Your kids will not do well in school unless your wife quits her full-time job to coach them or spend over a thousand a month for enrichment programmes and home tuition.

We will see the day, that our kids reduced to owning 60-years leasehold HDB in Singapore because of income gap.

Polytechnic and LCCI Level 4 can get 2-2.3K for fresh grads.
The rest will command a bit lower if they don't have work experience.

The 2.2K average is not a meaningful number.
The uniformed service and civil service, police and SAF pays them close to 2.8K. It pulls up the number.

U have to be a real deadweight to consider signing up for the uniformed service on a Diploma. But that is prob the best option as well.
 
when income gap widens many charbor legs open wide and lobangs also widen.

That was the same thing malays told the british a hundred years ago but they wouldn't listen. And now PAP doing the same thing.
