Chitchat Steve Job's keynote address CANNOT fight this chap

Yep, these corporations have dedicated network team and firewalls but the staff go home and buy anti virus, do not understand what is zero day attacks and worse still end up with a slow PC with the anti virus.

On the other side of the coin, some due to work, especially large corporations to change OS is just too costly, so they are stuck with crappy windozed crappy OS & hardwares that run that OS. I had mentioned I noticed this guy on his IBM notebook working on the train, sitting next to me...I noticed WINDOZED 7...I ask him, WIN 7?...why?, MS had stopped supporting!...he told me, can't help it..company doesn't want to upgrade..

I have been using Lotus 1.2.3. from version 1.0, work processor, display mate, word pro or something, data base DBI-III & then fox pro...& some graphic program & one template SW which MS acquired later...then MS OFFICE, I have tried Open office & other Office packages; but MS Office is so universally used, I couldn't use any other, not even Apple suit of SW's.

I am still using MS Office, MAC Office 2011 now...not the 365, but the standalone!

Those Windozed anti-virus softwares are shits too, one can't help feeling that they are the ones paying others to spread them & selling their softwares touting their reliability, strength & so forth protecting your machines. The fact is they allow viruses to sneak through & they will blame you, didn't update & worse shit anti-virus built in, is by Microshit, you can update it daily...100% you get them. The famous culprits in the anti-virus software for Windozed are Synmantac & McAfee; both from MS DOS days....you pay money for them, & pay yearly subscription fees...chances are 99.9% you get your OS infected.

Using Microshit OS, you have no peace of mind....it is a matter of time, you machines gets corrupted, hardware too plus viruses.

I simple user of notebook and the reasons I like Mac simply because after owning one about 7 years ago I don't have to worry about viruses, slowing down, long time to startup and shutdown, defrag etc etc. I never look back. Now with the latest MacBook Pro the 11th MacBook I've purchased.

I own a Macbook, it is good for build quality and amazing trackpad. But it is simply rubbish when it comes to working with the Microsoft Office suite. It's not on par even if u had bought the Office for Mac version. And it is not true that u dont have to worry about viruses.

The low end MacBook Pro only has 128 GB of SSD storage. It's kind of small. Is it possible to get one of those compact and hip looking SSD and connect it to the Mac via USB ?

if you need tb of storage, get the 3tb or 4tb time capsule. it cums with a wi-fi base station. bridge it to your isp wi-fi router and it will auto-configure the wi-fi channel not to conflict with your isp wi-fi router channel. now you get 2 wi-fi base stations. macbook pro auto syncs with time capsule and you get both auto backup and expanded storage. alternatively you can hook up external drives to the macbook pro using any of the 4 thunderbolt 3 connectors. however, if it's not usb-c such as in a thunderbolt 2 and lightning devices from apple or 3rd party port (usb-a, micro-b, mini-b, ethernet, hdmi, vga), you need to buy an adaptor from apple.

I have no complain with Office for Mac...still using the 2011 version, paid for 365 for a while & discontinued, still prefer to use software I pay once & own, rather than owe money every year to renew. Waiting for their next upgrade Office 2018(2019) for Mac & see how, if not upgrade to the last one , I think 2016 standalone copy.

Viruses , better control than Windozed, nothing is perfect, at least you get peace of mind. MS OS...all kind of things will fail at some point in time, you have work,businesses..etc. that is very disrupting...despite all the precautions, back ups etc..

You are not referring to this monster, are you ? It's 3x the price of the MacBook Pro.

It seems that Mac don't make those external SSDs at all.

of course mac doesn’t make jackshit. it’s apple that makes it. the apple time capsule is also an external ssd, 3 or 4 tb of it. heavy.
