The same mistake at many station maps.

Always blindly pointing black arrow upwards instead of at map north.

Confusion big time.

That is done by a Chinese, 东 start from that direction,南,西, 北, that is how the chinese read it.. pointing right is...ahh! is 东. Another case of SMRT people never check, just sign that job done, but did they volunteered?

This not a big issue.

If the arrow for Sarau pointing to Prayer direction to Mecca was wrong ISIS will come and take care of PAP.

:D

black arrow is pointing north towards tai seng station in the middle right of map, which is correct. the circled black arrow at top right of map is just a legend to indicate big black arrow points north if you find it on the map. nothing wrong with map. everything wrong with map reader.

You got drunk or on drug?

The black arrow is shown pointing Map West, and there is a black letter N on the right side 90 deg which is map North. Check road and you will find this N matching with roads' and buildings' orientation. The only thing wrong is black arrow blindly point upwards, when it should be pointing the N at 90 degrees.

for various purposes maps can be produced with any angle orientations, to e.g. up-right a building or area's front entrance or suit any intention of usage. It can be 40 degrees 180 degrees etc. Purpose of the compass rose symbol is to then identify the map north, and Arrow pointing N or north always. Not pointing top edge of map paper.
