Serious SMU Offers 10% Discounts On Condoms To Its Students!

SINGAPORE - Singapore Management University (SMU) students received an e-mail on Monday (Sept 25) offering them discounts on condoms.

In response to queries from The Straits Times, a spokesman explained that an oversight had led to the e-mail being sent out.

Sent out by the SMU Students' Association (SMUSA) at 9.08pm, the e-mail offered undergraduates an exclusive 10 per cent discount on condoms, from online condom store Happy Mail. The promo code "SMU2017" would have applied to two brands, Okamoto and Durex.

However another e-mail was sent out by Bizcom, the business development arm of SMUSA, about an hour later at 10.07pm, retracting the offer.

"We hereby apologise for the mistake in sending out the previous e-mails and are deeply sorry for any inconvenience caused," said the second e-mail.

The SMU spokesman explained that Bizcom occasionally receives requests from vendors and merchants to send e-mails to its undergraduates for a fee.



"SMU has rules in place prohibiting the dissemination of mailers by certain companies, including those selling alcohol, tobacco and condoms," the spokesman added.

"In this case, a newer member of Bizcom did not read the rules carefully before issuing the mailer. The president of Bizcom immediately tried to recall the mailer but was unsuccessful."

Condoms are not sold on the SMU campus.

Last time, not so long ago, the Planned Parenthood Board in conjunction with Ministry of Health, used to distribute FREE, MADE IN INDIA "RUBBERS". The women of those time, will tell you, that the PPB 'sneaky bastards", on one hand wants them to 'stop breeding' on the other hand give them low quality "rubbers"...that has holes, like playing Russian Roulette, don't know when , " you get shot". They have hard time, explaining to husbands, use "rubber"..still "get shot".

10% is too little & what sizes are those condoms...most of the 70% have small or no pricks, they have to use the smallest size ones, can't give them condoms made in Europe , Africa or America's etc...they slip off during the action & they will get 'shot'.

You are right, 10% discount is too little. Offer 30% and the condoms would be selling like hotcakes. :p
