日本90年代玉女偶像川越美和，2007年閃電引退後音信全無，今天出刊的《週刊女性》報導，原來她在20 08年4月被發現陳屍家中，人生最後一段日子因失業窮苦，終年僅35歲。

川越美和1988年出道後備受力捧，隔年就以第4張單曲《只是在作夢》奪下第31屆日本唱片大賞新人獎，除 了活躍於歌壇，她也演出不少日劇和電影。不過她後來漸走下坡，2007年在《鬼太郎》真人版電影飾演女主角 井上真央的母親，是她最後演出，此後消失演藝圈。

報導指出，川越美和卸下明星光環後，在房地產公司當電話客服員，並住在公司安排的宿舍，養了兩隻法國鬥牛犬 ，但她半年後即辭職；附近的理髮店老闆表示，川越美和曾到店裡問：“我沒有錢，可以幫我剪髮嗎？”還說會幫 忙打雜，但被老闆拒絕。


據悉她原本手頭優渥，因替他人作保而遭討債；她搬離公司宿舍時，因愛犬嚴重抓花地板、牆壁等，被迫賠償80 萬日幣（約3萬令吉），生活拮据的她精神大受打擊，需出入醫院服藥治療。

該公司主管回憶，當時曾打電話給她老家求助解決賠償糾紛，但她之前因喝酒、亂花錢闖了一些禍，她父親怒回已 與她斷絕父女關係、拒絕幫她，“下次見面就是捧著骨頭回來的時候”，沒想到一語成讖。

她另覓住所後，因拖欠房租，僅住3、4個月又搬家，落腳靠近羽田機場的木造公寓，也成為她嚥氣 之地。

她2008年4月搬進該公寓1星期左右，房東察覺有異，報警後進門發現她陳屍屋內，估計已死亡3、4天，死 因應為心臟衰竭。而她生前因貧苦暴瘦，但屋內散亂好幾袋狗食，可見她寧願餓到自己，也沒讓愛犬 捱餓。

她家人為她低調辦後事，也把她的愛犬接回去；她過世3年後，父親也撒手，母親搬去跟美和姊姊夫婦住，老家變 成空屋出售，目前已拆除。

她葬在家鄉鹿兒島縣錦江町，墓碑上刻著“川越美和 平成二十年四月二十二日 三十五才（歲）”，見者無不唏噓。
