- We are ranked 9th in the world. Our External debt is higher than China (10th place)
- If our population is 5.5 million. Each of us owes US$320,000 (about S$447,000)
- Our external debt is about 400% of our GDP vs 97% for USA.
- In comparison, HK has 1/3 less external debts than us.
- Our external debts level is the total of these 3 advanced economies, Norway, Netherlands and S.Korea.
- Our external debts level is double that of the rest of ASEAN combined.
