PAP said that there is no poor people in Singapore.

"Elderly poor queue over 10 hours to get S$60 hong bao by local temple in Balestier Road

Poverty in Singapore has hit a chronic level. Over 1,000 Singaporean elderly poor took a queue stretching 500m long to receive a S$60 hong bao from a local temple in Balestier Road on Tuesday (Dec 13 2016). The queue outside the temple gate of Tong De Shan Tang started as early as 10 hours before on Monday morning 2am, with some elderly poor bringing cardboard to stay over the night."

"Poverty in Singapore is often ignored by the Singapore government as it is an “embarrassing” topic to the administration with the highest political salaries in the world. Singapore Ministers claim that there is no “extreme poverty” seen in developed countries like Australia in Singapore. However, the Ministers are not aware that, unlike other countries, public begging in Singapore warrants a 2 years’ jail"

Who did they vote for? LOL.

Who did they vote for? LOL.

They believed what the candidates said and probably voted for the one who promised to alleviate their poverty. Alas, who they voted for fail them miserably.

So dont blame the poor. Blame the govt which impoverishes them with high cost of living, hidden levies, high utility charges, high medical costs

After the queue, they are $60 richer.

$6 per hour. Imagine if they helped others to train the Pokemons along the way... whoa! bee tang liao!

I spoke with an almost 80yr old cleaner at Bedok South market hawker centre. She is paid $5 an hr and she works an 8hr day.

As the pap sees it, there is no poor in SG as even an 80yr old can earn $40 a day. That shd be enough for her not to be poor

You are a frog in the well who has no idea what being poor is.

To have citizens who are 80 and healthy enough to be earning recurrent income shows that the Government is doing something right in Singapore.

right time to increase GST to 10%, PAP says GST collect is to help the poor,we must believe them

Citizens who r 80 n not dead and still have to work is a curse. It's their fault for living soo long.. gahmen should help them by giving them the Soylent Green option to alleviate their suffering

Hear hear those retards deserve it.
Sabo kings who sabo us 30%.
Many probably thankful to pap for the 60 bucks!
Hopeless cases die faster better

it's typical chink peasant mentality to line up for hours just to get some freebies. same phenomenon is happening at glide memorial church in sf. every year at this time the church gives away free food packages, and majority of folks who line up for hours to pick up food are chink peasants from chinatown. the food packages are meant for homeless veterans, drug addicts, alcoholic bums, poor families who live in vans and cars. but shameless chinks from nearby chinatown show up, occupy the line that is a mile long and grab most of the packages. these chinks have places to stay, help from family and relatives, welfare from the state and city, and jobs within chinatown. many restaurant owners even send their workers and wait staff to grab as much food as possible to stuff their pantries. chink peasants are disgraceful and shameless where ever they are, sg or sf.

this year at the glide memorial food giveaway event, more than 90% of folks queueing up are chinks, young and old. they can afford their own food but deprive those who truly need handouts from getting them. utter disgraceful behavior.

was at one corner watching them and many chink peasants keep returning for 2nds and 3rds. knn. really shameless peasants. look at their faces also tulan.

these folks are not poor. they are just being shameless greedy arseholes. will kwai kwai line up when there's a freebie to grab. no wonder sg is super city of soixante neuf.
