(Nov 28), China Foreign Affairs Minister Geng Shuang confirmed that Beijing has given instruction to return the armoured vehicles in Hong Kong back to Singapore. However, he warned Singapore to respect the “rule of law” and custom procedures in Hong Kong, and also more importantly the “One China” policy – suggesting that Singapore should stop all military ties with Taiwan.
(Nov 29), Singapore Minister Ng Eng Hen provoked China further by claiming that he won’t get back the confiscated military assault vehicles if he is not given “clear and legal” reasons for the detention.
Despite a 7-hour long meeting between the Singapore diplomats and Hong Kong authorities on Nov 29, China is not acceding to Singapore Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen’s demand for “clear and legal” reasons over the detention of 9 armoured vehicles. In an update by the Ministry of Defence (MinDef), the Singapore government is arranging another meeting today (Dec 1) to demand the “formal reason” for the detention.

The Post understands the nine Terrex armoured infantry carriers and components found in 12 containers en route from Taiwan to Singapore without appropriate permits, were also not “specifically” declared in the cargo manifest.
Importing unmanifested cargo is a violation of Hong Kong’s Import and Export Ordinance and carries a maximum penalty of a seven-year jail term and HK$2 million fine, according to a source with the knowledge of the matter.
The source said the shipping company involved had a duty to declare the type of goods on board its vessel, and that “the case will be handled in accordance with the laws”.
So what does Pinky want? If I am him just quickly get Ng Hen Han come back with the vehicles, then through diplomatic channel have a dialogue with Chinese government (at the very top level). PLEASE DO NOT SEND THAT LOSER VIVIAN!
