Russian site Hi Tech Mail.ru reports about a source which claims that the South Korean manufacturing giant is considering the abolishment of the “Note” brand, due to the most recent events of the Galaxy Note7 being recalled due to battery explosions, twice.

We have to face it, the reputation of the Note brand has been destroyed, not to mention all the negative attention Samsung has been receiving because of the faulty smartphones. The Note brand will never be looked at the same way as it used to. One of the industry’s best-selling phone lineup has been laid to rest for good and Samsung has to keep looking forward.

first the battery layers are slightly less than a millimeter too big for the separators, and next they squeeze the layers together in a tight sealed shell with symmetrical curvature at the edges causing contact between layers. wtf are they thinking about this rush to manufacture? and no exhaustive tests and friendly trials?

They flew too close to the sun and burnt their wings

anyway it had been a good run

if they had just trim the battery by an mm it would most likely be ok. no point stretching battery duration just to watch 6.9 episodes of korean drama fixated on running a bakery. 6.9 extra minutes of battery life to be 0.69 steps ahead of the iphone 6.9 resulting in 69 billions of losses? stupid koreans.

condolences to the samseng note 7. long live the iphone 7.

Probably the same thing as VW dieselgate.

Inter-department failures/cover ups to meet impossible targets set by the bosses.

I can imagine the office politics involved that led to this debacle.
