Dear Sirs,

I enjoy the appetizers served in some Chinese restaurants known as "ächar".
In the past, they were usually home made and sold in glass bottles at some hawker stalls or shops.
anybody know where to get them nowadays.
thanks in advance

Years ago, my Ah Kong would spend some of his spare time (he had lots) to make his own Achar. nobody I know makes it like him. A little sour, a little tangy, a little spicy, and with that little bit of crunch in its bite. Even those from Peranakan restaurants can't compare with my Ah Kong's achar. Too bad, nobody learnt it from him. He never made too much of it too. Jus a bottle or two, one for us, and one to give away. Never lasted long!

Cheers!
