PRC is in JV with Russia to make huge commercial planes and world's largest helicopters. PRC is developing 500 tons cargo aimed to exceed world most giant AN-224, possibly also in JV with Putin.

The global king of transport aircraft is still Russian Antonov AN-124 & AN-224 but due to Ukraine dispute, Putin have to RESTART development programs JV with Xijinping.

It is going to be very effective in kicking USA ass. It is cheaper and better and PRC can make 3 to 4 Y-20 for each C-17 USAF can buy from Boeing.

Light manpac missiles can hit heavy transporters but can only cause some damages, won't bring it down. The IR guide of manpac usually cause hit in one of the 4 engines. If the transporter deployed flare counter measures, it will mostly escape.



To bring down a heavy transporter a vehicle or ship launched or fighter jet launched AA missile of few hundred Kg weight is necessary, such as the BUK missile which shot down MH-17, and that is a crew of few men to operate and reload. They are fucking heavy.
