nation is crumbling because the Supreme Leader wants this country to be the Sampan version 3.0 super luxurious cruise liner Royal Carribean HMS Oasis of the seas.........its obvious singapore can never make it with a population of coolies and farmers,and 3rd world garbage.in order to be like New York or London u need a big country to act as a sieve to attract the world class talents and act as a sponge to filter out and absorb all the garbage filtrate and substrate that cant make it.the most successful will perform at madison square garden while the losers and unsuccessful will go to 2nd rate cities like toronto and illinois or singapore.

perhaps its time for singapore to change tact and course and go back to being who we are a simple fishing village Sampan 1.0 beta back in the 80s and 90s,where sinkies can be happy being who they are coolies and farmers,enjoying 3 meals at hawker center and occasionally restaurant.and singapore will just be a peaceful quiet island unknown to the world deep in the midst of the malayan jungles.

Ever since GE2015, we discovered that the common grumbling about FTs stealing sinkie women and jobs were grossly exaggerated. MOM's data revealed that most sinkies have good jobs, low unemployment rate, increasing household income and enough BTOs to meet demand. GE2015 was the watershed GE where we learnt that Ah Gong was right all along; we are living in a golden age.

Another generation has grown up, tasting unemployment....we all know well that MOM statistics do not tell the truth. I know quite a few, younger people I used to work with are OUT OF WORK at the moment...years ago, the were the "young ones"...now they are the "older ones".

Very educated, many of them private bankers, and many holding honorific job titles in the upper level of the income bracket....are out of work...they can get a skill get a Provincial taxi licence...or become UBER drivers...right? or make use of the skills future fund of $500 to UPGRADE their skills....ha ha ha

When LKY was alive & around it was the golden age....with a "twist"....& that twist was him...we had full employment, good growth, well oiled civil service....& a workforce that was educated , hard working & reliable....can't say this now, when his son is in charge...I may not like LKY but, credit must be given to him...that has brought us this far...

But...the fruit, has fallen far from the tree...& the core of that fruit is lousy & it is that 'pied piper' that is leading the 'lemmings'...to their doom & ours too...

Better find a way...to bring back, "ah gong"..

Many of the elites are there because of who they are related to & not because of merit e.g. the Lee children. If you know any of the relatives of LKY, then you will know that he looked after them by giving good jobs in the Spore gov't.

I think what has happened is that the elites have multiplied & the newer generation are not as smart & hard working as their parents. You only have to look at LHL as proof

One of the most public example of a failure is the case of Ms. Saw who screwed up SMRT big time. What got her the job was because she is a friend of Ho Ching. What has Ho Ching ever accomplished Other than being married to LHL she has been a disaster.
