Some of the directors are mired in multiple cross-holding situation that they struggle to represent the interest of the companies they sit on let alone Singpost. One Director has resigned due to an obvious conflict of interest arising from an acquisition of another company as result of a complaint by an academic. In layman's term he married his own step-sister without realising it. The bigger irony is that he is an independent director which makes a mockery of why the concept of independent directors were introduced.
By the way, one of the directors is Zulkifli Baharuddin was formerly with the Roundtable with Raymond Lim and Viv B etc. He was the media and press favourite on anything to do with politics until Eugene came alone. He is still ready to comment about politics. He was groomed by a PAP MP until they had a falling out over business and he only managed to get a term as an NMP. He too is mired in this cross holding situation. He sits on Signpost board and the recently resigned CEO sat on his Indo Transport Board.
By the way Board includes Deputy Chair of PSC which is rather embarrassing and that the reason why Ho Ching and Hubby favourite adopted family member Simon Isreal formerly was recruited at short notice
Singpost was expected to wither away as snail mail business is a sunset industry. No rising star wanted to be seconded there. After the Viennese CEO took over, it became a darling of the Business World. And everybody wanted to be Board Director and it now has one of the most impressive directors. If Lee family had a crystal ball on the eventual success of Singpost, like Singtel, a Lee or Kwa family member would have been appointed as it too is a monopoly..
