Singaporean convicted over fatal accident in New Zealand; he was driving at 120kmh before crash
The Straits Times
Singaporean Lew Wei Kiong, who was involved in an accident that killed a motorcyclist in New Zealand last November, has been convicted of aggravated careless driving causing death, local media reports said. The 30-year-old, who stuff.co.nz reported ...

These are single lane country roads. NZ is a very backward country and does not have a motorway network.

esp when the basikal is the main means of tpt

Very few bicycles on rural roads. Lot's of tractors, quad bikes, truck-trailers and motorbike groups.

A cyclist probably would not survive more than an hour. At night they'd be run over in less than 10 minutes and the culprit wouldn't even know.

thanks sam, knew that - as biking over long distances in nz is never a means of tpt, unless for recreational or competitive purposes where i suppose there'll be specific places for these...they must have biker gangs there ala hell's, bandidos, comancheros etc - do the maoris have the resources / partake in these or do most just eke out a living and get by thru social security and indulge in bingeing to get by thru life?

The biker gangs make tons of money from manufacturing and selling drugs.. ice, dope etc. They are generally not violent as any violent crime would undermine their drug operations.
