There were 15 staff at the track!! Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the safety track is too narrow to accommodate such a crowd!
Can bet their SOP does not cover OJT on the track! Prob no proper Risk Assessment! So their safety procedures not watertight after all. This kinda thing, u can go after Des and maybe Khaw! There were 15 staff at the track!! Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the safety track is too narrow to accommodate such a crowd!
Apparently something similar also happened in 2010.
This issue is systemic

objectively speaking, ho ching is responsible. smrt standards dropped when the butch took over. fb of ho ching. the problems we have today were all caused during her time.
This is not a knee jerk reaction. What kind of management allows 2 trainees within 3 months of joining a company be placed in such position that they have lost their lives. There is no act of God here, no wind, no storm etc that could have contributed to this tragedy. Again I suspect that it is poor procedures.
Desmond has been with the SMRT since 1 Oct 2012 and his last drawn salary was $2.25. When he came in he was allowed to bring in his own team and except for two, the rest were from the SAF with no prior experience in the industry. If he had brought in at least half of them who are in this industry it would have been acceptable. Does he need 10 years to fix the SMRT.
There has to be independent inquiry and not another bullshit eyewash exercise where lower ranking stuff are disciplined and we are then told that they have accepted their punishment. And why is he paid much higher than other GLC chiefs with firms that are valued much higher.
Singapore system is not based on MERIT..
1. Saw Phiak Hwa...no technical or engineering experience can be CEO of a National Transport
company..A mere duty free sale girl can helm such important post. Why PM LHL does
not intercede until much later when damage is done after 9 years of disrepair. He is sleeping
on his job..??
2. Ho Ching....no financial experience can run our billion dollar books. Just because LKY wants a good
night sleep with her in charge.
3. Wong Kan Seng, a dim-wit can be a deputy PM.. On Mas Selamat ..He is either in Singapore or
he is not in Singapore. We cannot think of one contribution from this bloke.
Tell us..What are the merits of the above three..???

The Workers’ Party offers our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the two SMRT maintenance workers, Nasrulhudin Najumudin and Muhammad Asyraf Ahmad Buhari, who passed away in an accident earlier today.
We are greatly saddened that the two workers had died in the line of duty.
This accident tragically highlights the hard work that maintenance and service workers put into making our public transport system operate efficiently. Thank you and please keep safe.
