Hi,
Would like to ask for some advice, a family mamber of mine has a chronic illness that she has been suffering from for years and would like to start on the gerson therapy. The norwalk juicer would be the recommended one.. but its way to expensive and very hard to get in singapore. Does anyone have a idea if the angel juicer vs the greenstart elite is better for the job? juicing 3kg of carrots and 2kg of apple and 2kg of leafy greens(kale, bokchoy, watercress) daily.

Years ago I took a look at the top juicers like Norwalk, Angel Juicer, Green star,..... & finally got an Angel Juicer directly from Korea.
Have a look at the videos that help me decide on my choice:

Thank you Johnny333, I have seen these videos and they are the reason why i am really looking at this juicer, you got it directly from korea? Does it have any warranty? The juicer looks like a tank but i am only afraid the motor will give problems later. I been trying to contact the 'local' reseller that has placed ads on Q010 but have not gotten a response so far, last resort will be to ship from the states.

I am using Hurom juicer and it is doing fine till now..If you get a piece of device, you got to know where to get the parts if it breaks...Hurom has a distributor here and warranty and servicing is available.

Hurom might not be the best juicer to give you the most yield from the fruits and veggies but it is good enough..based on the price and the warranty and servicing availability.

Johnny I am concerned with the cleaning of the Angel Juicer so I found out this video. My comments are

1. Seems like there are many corners that need to pay attention to clean it and don't seem easy to clean
2. Need to use a stainless steel part to scrap the stainless steel grinder I think this steel scrapping steel is not a good idea what do you think?
3. Seems like need lots of running water to clean this machine

If you get it directly from Korea the warranty is 10 years. Getting it directly from Korea you get to choose the model you want & all the extras. There is a US model with 110V, and model with 220V. The most expensive model is the one made of surgical steel. I got the cheaper model which is made of ordinary stainless steel.

It is built like a tank & if you have any problems it will probably be with the motor:smile:

I have seen the ads in QO10 they only give 5 years warranty. I think the Angel Juicer is distributed using an MLM strategy:confused:
The manufacturer is at http://www.angeliajuicer.com/

If you get it from Korea you get to choose the voltage, the type of plug i.e. UK, & 10 year warranty.
On the motor there is a socket/plug where you connect the power cable

If you get one I recommend getting the stainless steel pitcher http://www.angeliajuicer.com/detail.htm?ProductID=Angel-juicer-juice-pitcher
For US$30 it might appear to be expensive but I find it better than the free plastic collector they provide. It fits nicely as a juice collector.

They also have a 316 stainless pitcher but you have to pay extra for shipping because it doesn't fit in the box.

Also recommend getting extra cleaning brushes. If you use the unit daily the bushes will eventually need replacing.

I think the manufacturers site is at http://www.angeliajuicer.com/
When I ordered my unit I received my order under a week.

You use the scrapper that is provided for a more thorough cleaning. I also recommend getting the brushes you can extra brushes from the site.

Don't have to worry about damaging the unit with the scrapper because the metal scrapper is softer than the parts that need to be cleaned. You don't have to use the scrapper after every use. Maybe once a week, a month, or when you want to do a more thorough cleaning.

I actually use the brush for daily cleaning which I think is adequate.
I use a large metal bowl where I 1st soak the parts that need to be cleaned. However I clean my unit immediately after I juice.

Cleaning is always a hassle & probably why most juicers end up in the cupboard unused:biggrin:

The Angel Juicer is a very good at what it does, juicing. It's designed to extract the maximum amount of juice with minimum heat. It's not cheap but if you are going to juice expensive organic produce, you want to make sure to maximise juice extraction. It is I think the Rolls Royce of juicers:smile:

Thanks for the info... do you have the korean website to share?
I got the 7500 unit from the distributor here in singapore, he did not give any discount and i still had to pay GST, end up paying about $250-300 more than if i got directly from korea. Didnt want to wait as wanted to start the gerson theraphy right away for my family member. Can we get directly from korea for the other parts n accessories? The local distributor's prices are ard 25% higher.

Seller was a nice guy and gave a full demo and run thru how to use it. the juicer is really not easy to clean as compared to a centrifugal juicer, but i agree completely that the juice quality is much higher. Have started using it since last night, still running in the workflow on how to make use of it efficiently. Learning how to cut the produce the most efficient way as well for easy juicing. I have tried the juice from the norwalk before... taste is even cleaner than the angel. but price is more than double and its a hassel to deal with them as they do not have any distributor outside of the US and that thing is HUGE.

Where do you get your organic produce from? I go to nature glory, Bought the 20kg sack of juicing carrots for $76... which will last only 5 days... still looking for better alternatives.

The manufacturer's website is http://www.angeliajuicer.com/

I also got the Angel model 7500 because it seems to have all the important features.
The Norwalk seems to be a pain to use since it is a 2 stage process. The 1st step is the cutter & 2nd step is a hydraulic press. You also need to store the special bags in the freezer. I also lack the kitchen counter space. Natures Glory used to sell Norwalks in the past.

I get my produce from Nature's Glory: Kale, Swiss Chard, Beet Root, carrots & Apple. They sometimes don't have all the veggies because of the weather in Australia. That's when I look at NTUC for organic apples & carrots.

If you read about the Gerson Therapy you will find that it recommends mostly green vegetables & not only carrots.
I juice green veggies & limit the sweet vegetables like carrot & apples because I have heard that people who juice only carrots eventually develop diabetes. I only include one carrot & an apple to my mostly green juices to make the green juice more tolerable:o

Anyone has experienced to share with manual juicer?

The only manual juicer I've used is the simple twist type. You have to cut a lemon into 2 & then insert half the lemon & twist.

It is only for juicing half a lemon for my green tea & lemon mixture. Good for detoxing.

Yea... the norwalk is too much trouble... and space contraints as well. Currently following the gerson recipe to the letter, it calls for ard 4kg of carrots a day, and leafy greens n apples adds up to ard 13kg of veggies to juice a day... drink 13 cups a day... coffee enema 5 times a day... its a full time job. :*:

these days i try not to blend or juice fruit and vege due to water conservation. every time after juicing and or blending i have to waste gallons of water washing up the juicer or blender, especially the juicer where more water is needed to remove pulp, stains, and fiber lodged in crevices and corners. best is simply cut up fruit and vege into a salad and chew on them. it helps with jaw muscles too.

I do not have cancer but I try to follow the juicing guidelines of the Gerson Therapy because it is good for your health.

How good is it? It has helped people with all sorts of health problems. The reason that Gerson came up with the guidelines of the therapy is because he was himself suffering from migrains & initially started with Apples & over time fine tuned the therapy to heal other ailments.

There are many books available explaining the Gerson Therapy. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...x=gerson,aps,395&rh=n:283155,k:gerson+therapy

Here is a youtube video which will give you an idea:

i read the commments on youtube and a number of them complain that Gerson therapy required a large amount of money to do it..

You got to pay for organic vegetables daily and for months..

Well, to all those healthy people who has not get cancer yet.. it is cheaper to keep healthy and maintain your health now.. Drinking 1000ml of organic juice daily will save you the trouble to go through this in the future. It is so much cheaper than gerson.

that is what happen when meat eaters screwed themselves with all the meat, and then complain no money to go Gerson..

My suggestion to these meat eaters.. just dun spend the money and drop dead instantly. It is better for the world, animals and the environment.

Gerson therapy is still cheaper than the usual cancer treatment in the long run... and eating n drinking healthily have never killed anyone... I agree totally that drinking 1lt of juice n eating a mostly plant based diet is better than seeking treatment in the case of any chronic diseases... Its taxing mentally on your immediate family as well.

If people are looking for a high tech way to clean their veggies & fruits there is a device that will fruits & veggies using 2 methods

1) cleans ultrasonically &
2) generates ozone

These handheld devices have been around for years but are now conveniently available via mail order. The strange thing is that there is a model that costs SIN$80 and another for SIN$387?
