Its all about rules of engagement. The US have to fight with a set of rules of engagement dictated by public opinions and western sensitivities. Its like having one hand tied behind their backs in a boxing match. The Chinese will have no such rules and no such qualms. E.g. The US will not drop a 2000lb PGM on a mosque full of worshippers even if there were 10 IS leaders in the mosque praying with hundreds of other worshippers. The Chinese don't have this problem, and probably not the Russians either.

u are wrong. so far the russian acted on instruction from assad to engage syrian rebels more then isis. more then 2000 isis fighters n their family were vacated from a refugee camp which they held near to damascus. for obvious reasons, assad and isis have been avoiding each other in direct conflict and it is rumored that turkey is not the only purchaser of stolen oil from iraq and syria. russian involvement thus far was to exert pressure for a future divided syria with or without assad, with or without involvement of pariah state turkey.
any chinese involvement would be advisory and there is no benefit at this stage to be involved with boots on the ground especially when the effect of russian persistence bombing achieving diminishing results, contrary to earlier positive outlook. boots from hamas, iranian revolutionary guards amount of tens of thousands are not making ground even with additional Russian artillery support. even on the iraqi front, the iranian backed russian supported PMF popular mobilisation force is not achieving much nowadays.
