In biblical time was stated 1/10, nowadays, does it still holds or give until your heart (pocket hurts).
While Christianity originates from the West, Singapore is in South East Asia, what makes one to embrace something that is from so far away....the promise of salvation?. the promise of eternal life?.

Do you give the church more or your parents more or equally both.....why is that so, if you give the church more, are they more important than your parents, or if equally, do you see them as being equal.

1. Christianity originates from the middle east. Not the West. Its the West that was actively promoting its growth at that time, now the growth is in Asia! That was the secret of the Western Civilization success. The social infrastructure between God and men through the word of Christ, The Bible and the Church. Once they separate them to make their countries secular, now they have abortion, gay sex, gun violence, drugs and sub prime crisis!

2. Giving money to church doesn't guarantee salvation. Its not like Catholicism or you pray to Kuan Yin or Buddha where you can buy your way to heaven. God is gracious but not stupid. He knows our heart. You cannot fool him. He is not our ATM machine.

3. Believing in God means you can pray for your family and friends! And bless them always. Its much more valuable than just paper money. Where they have plenty. Few are poor in Affluent Singapore with the world's top 5 Per capita GDP.

4. Also in Angmo countries all tithes are tax deductible. They lower your taxable income.
