Rooting Motorola phones (before Lenovo bought over in 2014) is challenging due to it's strict security restrictions.

Using ADB (Android Debug Bridge) :

• To Unlock Bootloader from locked phones.
  

• Then replacing the ugly boot up warning notice with Motorola OEM boot logo.
  

• Flash and root with CWM/TWRP.

Rooting China brand phones with Towelroot and Framaroot after flashing custom ROMs.

Now flashing custom ROM and rooting DOOGEE phone (Fark off Lollipop 5.2)

For Lenovo A396, since there are bloatware, malwares, trojan when u bought it new, (have u removed it? use Malwarebytes to remove) i can recommend u KingoRoot which itself has malware (see below) and also base on my own experience. PC Windows version is easy to use. APK also available.

If u don't feel comfortable with KingoRoot then use Framaroot 1.93 or Towelroot but Malwarebytes and Antivirus will detect it as trojan, so after rooting, go to Google playstore, download and install SuperSU by Chainsfire. Then uninstall Framaroot / Towelroot.

No rooting won't. In any case, turn on sync and backup your data periodically.

Found this for rooting your tablet Ainol Novo 8 mini, but i WON'T recommend iRoot formerly known as VRoot because it will install Malwares, ads, and internal root application to connect to their server in China. It will cost u money if your data plan is on metered connection. Since yours is 2013 old model, other rooting applications listed in this thread should be able to do it.

Kingo Root will cost u money with it's stealth internet connection activity. You will see this message below whenever your phone is not connected to the internet. Found this on this web of a victim.

Go to Google play store download and install SuperSU, update binary and install SuperSU as system root app. Then uninstall Kingo Root. Let me know if u have problem uninstalling Kingo Root.
