NCMP Selection guidelines

A Non-constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) is a member of an opposition political party who, according to the Constitution of Singapore and Parliamentary Elections Act, is declared to have been elected a Member of the Parliament of Singapore despite having lost in a general election by virtue of having been one of the best performing loser
There can be up to 9 NCMP (and Oppostion MPs in Parliament). Since there are 6 WP MPs, so there will be 3 NCMP.
I think the 3 should be:
1. Lee Li Lian of WP (48.24% of votes)
2. Dennis Tan of WP (42.48%)
3. Any one from the WP EC GRC Team (39.27% )

LLL said she will not be taking up the ncmp seat. It is likely the Sengkang West candidate and one from either Jalan Besar or Nee Soon. Seeing how they are all incompetent, maybe they should pass the baton to another party like SPP or SDP to maximize opposition representation in parliament. But you know WP being Yau Quee will take all ncmp seats to prevent currently fielded party candidates from making an exodus.
Sergeant, why should WP give their NCMP seat to other parties?
If SDP wins, will they offer the seat to WP also?
Firstly, as a PAP supporter (I now know that you are a fake oppo supporter!), your opinion will be bias and not made for the benefit of opposition in Singapore as a whole.
If LTK wants to save the oppo goodwill in Singapore, and save himself indirectly, I hope he will be wise to give an NCMP seat to the SDP, which is the second winning oppo party.

I hope LTK will be smart enough to give one NCMP seat to the SDP, which is the second winning oppo party, for oppo goodwill and the common good of Singaporeans.
It will definitely improve the quality of the debate in our Parliament instead of having more of the same from the PAP and the WP.
Also, SDP may be able to come to the rescue of the WP whenever the WP finds itself in a sticky situation for one reason or another.
At least, the PAP will then have to debate with two oppo parties instead of one. So, the PAP cannot always arrow WP only.
I agree. This NCMP is just a mockery and a constant reminder to the losers. I suggest WP, if they still have any dignity left, to boycott the NCMP. Either you are a MP or you are not. Either you are pregnant or you are not. You cannot be half pregnant.
I see where you are coming from but unlikely to happen. Not just LTK to decide. His 'royal court' must support it and politics being politics, I doubt so. But if happen, I would like to see Thambyah in action.

Well, either CSJ or Paul Tambyah will be good. They are both good, but in different ways.
It is really for the interest of WP to give one away. After all, we had Lina Chiam in the last Parliament, and it was good to see how Lina performed well and spoke differently from the WP in Parliament.
I sincerely hope that LTK will not be too selfish, and hope that LTK will be wise to consider the interests of the nation, above his own party interests.

It is just a suggestion. Please do not yell and please do not be selfish.
The fact is the SDP has already done a lot of work in their policy paper proposals, that can be tabled for discussion in the Parliament immediately for the common good of the Singaporeans. That will save the WP a lot of time and work. The WP has not presented a single paper during the last five years and that is one of the reasons they do badly in this election. Quite a lot of intelligent oppo supporters have been very disappointed with WP's performance in the Parliament.
The SDP can share some of their proposals and research work with the WP, so it will be a win-win situation for everyone, especially for the benefit of Singaporeans.
It's a very good suggestion but barring a miracle I just don't see WP sacrificing its party interest for the greater interest of opposition politics in Singapore.

Hi bro, I hope the WP will learn to be more humble and more patriotic after their poor performance in this GE.
They will gain a lot of goodwill if they try not to be too greedy. Their main aim to keep their house in Aljunied in order and not try to expand too much.
You know there are some Singaporeans who are really not that stupid and who have eyes to see if the WP is really working for the benefit of Singapore or for their narrow party interests.
If the WP remains selfish and incompetent, they may not even be able to keep Aljunied GRC by the time the next election comes.
If I were them, I would be kind rather selfish and greedy.
