MND's action of investigating the maintenance company servicng WP TC have set precedents and brings up a lot of questions.
1. Tax department can share your private financial information to any government entities with NO cause ...so if a kaypoh civil servant requests for your tax info, he can get it. If your business competitor has friend in a government department, that company can access your business financial info through that individual;
2. MND's mandate has expanded ...it now investigates companies ...it investigates the WP TC auditors, the estate maintenance company ...what else?
3. If any ministry is not happy with a business, it can secretly ask the regulator to investigate. That's harassment. MND asked ACRA to investigate the WP auditor. It was never made known to the WP auditor that the action was initiated by MND.
4. A new precedent has been set on transparency ... if public money is used to pay for goods or services, the companies receiving those contracts will now have to report PUBLICLY the profits they are making;
