logically, the PAP feels confident about TPL winning MacPherson. that's why they created this SMC. they wouldn't create a marginal seat held by an unpopular incumbent, to have an exciting 50-50 chance against the opposition. anyways I don't think TPL will do very well, maybe just carve out an uncomfortable victory.

3. It would essentially be admitting that they made a mistake in 2011, taking into account all the publicity about her leading up to polling day. They never like to lose face or admit they are wrong.
