The MP for Sengkang West SMC Lam Pin Min is apparently unaware that the Singapore national flag should not touch the ground as he finds nothing wrong with a photo of a string of national flags placed on the ground.
Under the Singapore Statutes on the Use and Display of Flag:
“Respect for Flag
4.—(1) No person shall treat the Flag with disrespect.
(2) No person in possession of the Flag shall allow or cause the Flag to touch the floor or ground, even when lowering the Flag from a staff or flagpole.
…(4) Any person, who without reasonable excuse, contravenes rule 4 or 12 shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $1,000.”
Do you think the PAP MP is above the law and should be excused from police investigations?
