They are at least walking the talk, so to speak, when they expressed "concern" - whatever it means. Concerned about what? Losing votes?
Have to delay elections.

But the total absolute silence from the Board Directors, especially the Chairman, takes the cake. They have NEVER, EVER gone public to express any remorse or apology whatsoever.

Do we need an expensive board, with their fees increased on the very afternoon that the biggest train "detrainment" taking place?

Off topic: I notice that electric fans nowadays dun last at all be it for grass cutting or water pump or cooling fans..........all conk after few years. Gone are the days where they outlast my parents!!

This concept is also followed by other device like PC, printer etc. I used to manage a factory which uses one very good heavy duty rolled sheet metal slitter...... after 40 yrs it was running like day one. Result? The manufacturer wehnt bust due to no repeat sale!!!!!!!!!!! So what do you do as manufacturers who want to remain in the market????????????

Upgrades of shopping malls & food courts also don't last as long as they used to . The cycle between the upgrades seems to get shorter. Each time they use the upgrade as an excuse to increase the rentals.

Obviously the PAP policy is to maximise profits$$$ at the expense of the lesser mortals.

I bet that none on the SMRT board take public transport. Just look at who these people: high ranking civil servants, CEOs, lawyer, school principal, ...
