Rumours are kicking around that foodpanda’s Singapore offices were raided by police on Friday. We were tipped off over the weekend to the possible raid by a source familiar with the company.

Admittedly, there’s relatively little to go on for now — and we cannot independently confirm or deny the rumour, though we have reached out to foodpanda for comment — but one possible reason could be around Rocket Internet’s practice of bringing in foreign interns from Europe to some of its ventures in Southeast Asia.

We also reached out to a source who was integral to launching foodpanda’s operations in Singapore, but is no longer with the company. Unfortunately, that individual was also in the dark about a possible raid.

If we hear back from the company itself, we’ll be sure to update you.
